Christy Rice

Christy Rice

Professional Powerlifter | National Record Holder | World Medalist

Christy Rice is a professional women’s powerlifter who has made a name for herself on both the national and international stage. A two-time American record holder in the bench press with USA Powerlifting (USAPL) and the 2025 (International Powerlifting (IPF) World Silver Medalist, Christy continues to redefine what it means to be strong, focused, and driven.

Christy began her powerlifting journey in 2017, discovering the sport later in life and quickly finding her stride. With a natural strength and an unmatched work ethic, she began competing in the Masters 1 division (ages 40–49) and has since built an impressive resume that speaks to both her talent and consistency in competition.

National Success – USA Powerlifting (USAPL)

Competing in the 60kg Masters 1 division, Christy currently holds two American records in bench press for USAPL:

  • 97.5kg Bench Press (Single Lift)March 1, 2024, at the Arnold Sports Festival
  • 95kg Bench Press (Full Power Meet)May 12, 2024, at the Masters World Cup

These lifts represent the highest marks ever recorded nationally in her division, a testament to her technical precision and physical strength. She earned her USAPL Pro Card in 2022 at Bench Nationals in Las Vegas—marking a major milestone in her competitive career. She’s also made multiple appearances at the Arnold Sports Festival, one of the most prestigious strength sport events in the world.

Expanding Horizons – Powerlifting America & State Records

In addition to USAPL, Christy also competes under Powerlifting America, where she continues to excel. Most recently, she set the Minnesota State Record for bench press in the 63kg Masters 1 division, lifting 100kg at the Powerlifting America Bench Nationals. This performance not only earned her state-level recognition, but also demonstrated her continued progress and strength as she moves between weight classes with strategic discipline.

Going Global – 2025 IPF Bench Press Worlds

Christy’s career reached a new high in May 2025, when she represented the United States at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) Bench Press World Championships in Drammen, Norway. Competing in her first international event, Christy delivered a remarkable performance, earning a silver medal against the best lifters in the world.

Her debut on the global stage solidified her reputation as a top-tier Masters athlete and opened the door for future international competitions as part of Team USA.

Beyond the Platform

Christy’s success hasn’t gone unnoticed. In February 2025, she was featured on KARE 11’s Sports Extra, where she shared her story of late entry into competitive powerlifting, her rise through the ranks, and her commitment to inspiring others—especially women in strength sports.

Her story resonates because it’s not just about records or medals. It’s about showing what’s possible with passion, consistency, and a fearless approach to new challenges.

What’s Next

Christy continues to train and compete at an elite level, always aiming to improve her own numbers and represent her state and country with pride. Whether it’s breaking records, earning medals, or inspiring others to pursue strength at any age, Christy Rice is a true force in powerlifting—on and off the platform.

They will be in the “Girl Power” tent from 11-1 on Saturday signing autographs and greeting the public.
